Le parisien Sylvain Dalidot, qui n'a aucun lien avec Valérie, puisqu'elle c'est Valérie Damidot, sort son premier album Senso Data sur Rise. Extrêmement discret, il a déjà signé plusieurs maxis (dont un sur Kitsuné) et des remixes pour New Young Pony Club, Midnight Juggernauts, Mylo...
"Popular Computer est une bouffée d'oxygène au milieu d'un dancefloor qui n'en plus des sons saturés. Il prouve qu'en 2008, on peut encore donner dans l'electro-house sans compresser à tout bout de champ, produire des morceaux rythmés sans systématiquement tabasser?" (Tsugi - Décembre 2008)

Quand as tu commencé la musique ? Sur quels instruments/logiciels composes-tu ? remixes-tu ?

J’ai commencé quotidiennement la musique vers 98/99. Je fais tout sur un ordi maison. Un PC of course. Je n’utilise surtout pas de hardware. A part un vieux clavier synthé j’utilise principalement la souris.

Tu as remixé entre autres, Midnight Juggernauts et Mylo, se sont tous officiels ?

Comment ça ? oui ils sont tous sortis mes remixes, excepté le Hot Chip.
Je vous invite à les écouter sur mon myspace, il y a un petit lecteur en milieu de page,
le son est pas trop mal.

Tu sais ce que devient Mylo ?

Ha non mais je pense qu’il doit créer des trucs.

Pour continuer dans les remixes, Shinichi Osawa a l'air très proche de toi, il a remixé ton morceau Lost and Found, tu as remixé son Star guitar, comment vous êtes vous rencontrés ?

C’est une longue histoire mais pour faire simple : Par l’intermédiaire de nos musiques on se
respecte, et nous avons appris à nous apprécier.

Le 29 novembre dernier, tu mixais d'ailleurs a ses cotés au Womb, qui est sans doute l'un des meilleurs club au monde.
Osawa, le Womb.. Tu as une attirance particulière pour le Japon ?

Mon ambition numéro 1 est en effet de travailler avec le japon.
J’aimerais à présent remixer de la pop Japonaise. J’ai été invité au Womb par Shinichi Osawa entre autres, et je crois que je suis apprécié là bas. Je cherche un éditeur et/ou un manager japonais.

On peut entendre Pacific! sur Lost and Found, en échange de ton remix de Sunset blvd, j'imagine, comme pour Osawa, comment vous êtes vous rencontré ?

Non il ne s’agit pas d’échanges mais du hasard. Tout ceci est arrivé en échangeant des messages
sur le net plutôt. Je n’ai jamais rencontré Pacific ! tout comme je n’avais jamais rencontré Shin
avant le Womb. Après avoir terminé le remix pour Pacific! et après avoir travaillé avec la voix de Pacific! je me suis dit « mais c’est trop bête je devrais les inviter sur l’album ». C’est exactement la respiration qu’il manquait pour le disque.

Outre la sortie de ton album, as-tu des projets a venir ? remixes ? collaborations ?

Je vais jouer à nouveau je pense quelques dates avec mon laptop qui décidera seul de la prochaine soirée à ne pas manquer pour faire résonner Senso Data.
Je travaille sur le prochain disque. Et pour le reste je ne peux pas en parler car tout est en cours de réalisation.

Avec qui aimerais tu bosser ?

Je veux bosser avec des femmes c’est tout lol. Mais aussi, j’aimerais remixer Alain Souchon,
William Sheller ou Christophe. J’aimerais réaliser un album pour un artiste de talent dans de
bonnes conditions de production.
J’aimerais faire la musique d’un spectacle de danse. Faire des choses différentes…

Little Boots

L’Anglaise Victoria Hesketh ex-chanteuse du trio féminin, Dead Disco vient de sortir son premier EP, Arecibo sur le label américain, I’m Sound Records qui est deja un véritable hit. Et si elle a créée un buzz en reprenant, dans une video, Ready to the floor, c'est sans doute parce qu'elle est est produite par Joe Goddar d'Hot Chip.
Son premier album arrive bientôt.

La Roux c'est sous ce curieux pseudonyme que se cache, la britanique Elly Jackson, une jeune rousse de 20 ans dont le single Quicksand fut un titre phare de la compile Kitsuné Vol.6.

Son manager est le même que celui des Klaxons, Gildas & Masaya la voit déja à la radio, j'arréte la ? Ok, en entendant l'album chez Polydor en 2009.

Passion Pit n'est pas seulement le titre d'un film porno ( 39°5, le soir en VF) de Duck Dumont et Charles de Santos, sorti en 1985. C'est aussi le nom d'un groupe de rock de Boston.
La tête pensante de la bande, Michael Angelakos, concocte des pop songs trafiquées à l'électro, entre Randy Newman et Giorgio Moroder, un peu dans la veine psyché de MGMT et Boy crisis.

L'EP Chunk of change est ressorti chez Frenchkiss Records, augmenté de deux titres : "Better Things" et "Sleepyhead". Le premier LP de Passion Pit doit sortir en 2009.

J'ai voulu une couleur or pour colorier le lien comme les chaussures mais visiblement c'est impossible.

Ca commence telle la rencontre entre Midnight Mike ayant piqué les tam-tams d'Ennio Morricone.
Et la voila, non pas la neige mais la petite melodie disco cosmic, puis le beat qui rend le truc un peu plus lourd, ou allons nous arreter ? oui ou ?
A des bruits bizarres, un kangourou ? peut être.
Et on repart de plus belle, toujours aussi funky.
